We nurture perseverance by encouraging students to keep trying, even when things are hard. Every child belongs here–we build strong relationships and learn to collaborate and communicate with kindness and respect. Durfee Students Qualify for John & Abigail Adams Scholarships

Congratulations to the 134 B.M.C. Durfee High School seniors who qualified for the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship based on their strong performance on the 10th-grade MCAS. School and district leaders recognized the students at a breakfast ceremony earlier today in the Durfee 3rd-floor cafeteria.

Awarded by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), this scholarship provides tuition credit for up to eight semesters at a Massachusetts state college or university—helping open doors to higher education right here in the Commonwealth - and encouraging students to continue their education close to home.

Criminal Justice Students Win Mock Trial

History Made at B.M.C. Durfee High School

Students enrolled in the school’s Criminal Justice CTE Pathway have earned their first-ever Mock Trial victory! After weeks of preparation, planning, and teamwork, the students’ dedication paid off with a win in their first criminal justice mock trial competition. Even more exciting, this marked their first time competing in a real courthouse.

Congratulations, Durfee DECA!

B.M.C. Durfee High School DECA had an outstanding showing at the DECA District 8 Career Development Conference, held January 8–9, 2026, at the Hyannis Resort & Conference Center!

5 students qualified to advance to the State Career Development Conference (SCDC).

Elevating Their Skills

Durfee High School Cosmetology students hit the road for a hands-on learning experience at Hairlines in Shrewsbury, MA. Students participated in a specialized class focused on foil highlighting and graduated haircuts, gaining valuable insight from industry professionals.

Durfee Ensemble Concert for Middle Schoolers

Fall River Public Schools middle school students in grades 6–8 who currently play an instrument were invited to Durfee High School for a special performing arts showcase.

Hosted by the Durfee Performing Arts Department, the event gave the middle schoolers a chance to see and hear what Durfee’s band, orchestra, chorus, and theater programs have to offer — and to imagine themselves as future performers.
